I also think a fun twist is for the villian to be gay and have it revealed midway through the film. Hollywood is still trying to figure out how to make a great film for the masses with a female lead. The real mass appeal right now is going to be heroes against fascist macho men in film. Basically make his horde as fascist as possible and then they basically try to capture her and take her as her but she fights them off and needs to protect her boat town or what not. I think the plot should be more or less a fascist is trying to get a woman to join his horde or what not. I do think they want a female lead for it to be green lite. I think a reimagining would be needed as there would really be some neat engineering like Mad Max where someone steals a yacht and turns it into a kind of fleet and I can see a twist on it. You can't go wrong with post apocalypse pirates.

The setting is actually interesting enough as it is a post apocalyptic world which most people fantasize about sometimes. That being said, a waterworld remake would work and they could use the same set as Aquaman or Pirates of the Caribean. I remember finally at 18 and seeing a nude woman for the first time wondering why would they hide their bodies. Back in my day, you either had to get up at 4 am for the girls gone wild infomercials, watch the MTV spring break, pause movies like waterworld, or record the scrambled playboy channel and wonder if that green thing was a woman's body. Waterworld was the first movie that I remember during puberty where I saw a female butt. I then started writing fanfiction about waterworld. When i was in middle school i was gifted my first DVD player and copy of waterworld on DVD. But here's to hoping.įun fact: I would play with my legos in the bathtub and play waterworld as a child. I highly doubt they would ever remake waterworld, or give it a sequel. Think about the mummy remake thattom cruise was in, that was going to be the start of universal's dark universe? All of that is shelved or canceled due to the mummy's poor performance. Now as for a remake, though I would personally love it, it was one of the most expensive blockbuster bombs of it's time, and if there is anything universal studios actively avoids its blockbuster bombs.

Normally there pretty craptacular but this one added more depth to the world. More so, I'd reccomend finding a used copy of the novelization of the movie. So much so that when I heard about the elusive 'ullyses cut's had to find it.
